I've challenged myself to post one drawing to Instagram everyday to encourage me to spend more time on sketches and these are the results!

This was a really great interview and I learned some great lessons on the process of finding my place in the art world. Mr. Rayfield made some great points about how we, as artists and teenagers, will often compare ourselves to others or use other people's progress as a touchstone for our own personal progress in the art world. Lately I have experienced similar feelings to those that Rayfield was reflecting on in his stories of art in his younger life. He talked about how he would see other people's art and he would look back at his own and wish that he could be as good as them. The way he would overcome the slight jealousy was hard work and dedication to craft, which I found inspirational and I actually want to start doing art even more regularly after hearing about his stories. One thing that he said later on in the interview that I really took away from this talk was "don't try to do what everyone else is doing because...not everybody's built for the crowds." He said this when he was telling the story about wanting to go to the academy because his friend went to the academy and I thought that this observation is a really good lesson to take away from this video. Everyone is different and progresses at different paces, but the one thing that helps us all in the art world is practice and dedication.
This week was pretty successful and I got off to a quick start. My goal for next week is to add text to my work and excite the background a bit. I included videos below (however it is my first time putting a video onto my website and I don't know if it will work properly).
